Ribbon Anti-Dumping

This month, the United States again imposed anti-dumping duties on "Made in China" after collecting up to 174% of anti-dumping duties on Chinese electric blankets.

On July 13, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced that it would impose a maximum anti-dumping duty of 247.65% on gift box ribbons and other ribbons made in mainland China, claiming that the price of related products was unfair, and impose a tax of no more than 4.37% on related products from Taiwan, China.

This is a gift box made by the United States for China silk ribbon The second anti-dumping. At the beginning of February this year, the US Department of Commerce levied anti-dumping duties of up to 231% on gift boxes and packaging ribbons made in mainland China, and no more than 4.54% on Taiwan related products.

Compared with the last time, the anti-dumping duties on the mainland were significantly increased, while the duties on Taiwan were slightly reduced. According to the news, Berwick Offray of Pennsylvania, the United States, accused its competitors from mainland China and Taiwan of exporting goods to the United States at low prices, and said that Chinese enterprises also have government subsidies.

Zhao Zhongxiu, dean of the School of International Economics and Business of the University of International Business and Economics, said that many enterprises producing ribbons in Taiwan now turn to the mainland for processing in the form of "three processing and one compensation". Its basic feature is that Taiwan receives orders, the mainland produces, and then exports to Europe and the United States. Therefore silk ribbon Many products are from Taiwan. Some experts believe that it is unreasonable to impose anti-dumping duties on mainland ribbons that are far higher than those on Taiwan.

It is reported that except Xiamen Yaoming Ribbon Ornaments Co., Ltd., other companies are required to pay 123.83% or 247.65% of the anti-dumping duty, and 117.95% of the countervailing duty is set up for Fujian Changtai Rongshu Textile Co., Ltd. to offset government subsidies.

Xiamen Yaoming Ribbon Co., Ltd. has been responding to anti-dumping lawsuits for more than half a year, and finally won the preliminary judgment with zero tariff. The other enterprise that gave up responding to the lawsuit received 231.4% of the punitive tariff, and the other 13 enterprises were all ruled as 115.70% of the dumping tariff.

A person in charge of the Trade Management Department of Shandong Sanyang Textile Company told the reporter that 20% of the company's products were sold to Europe and the United States. It is still unclear how to deal with anti-dumping. If anti-dumping duties are levied, I really don't know how to deal with it. He said, "It's really no good. We can only focus on domestic sales."

Zhao Zhongxiu believed that anti-dumping Taxation will have an impact on Chinese enterprises in the short term. If Chinese enterprises improve product quality, they will still open the European and American markets.
